Holiday Summary
Day 1: Arrive Darwin
Arrive in Darwin and pick up your vehicle before settling into your accommodation and spending the afternoon exploring the local highlights that Darwin has to offer such as Crocosaurus Cove or East Point Reserve with its excellent Defence of Darwin Exhibition.
Darwin is a modern city whose flair and charm is a real surprise to people who aren’t expecting it. Include a visit to one of the great pubs, eateries or café’s in the city or overlooking the marina and wharf. Well attended markets and sensational sunsets cap off a great day in Darwin.

Day 2: Darwin to Litchfield National Park
Begin your adventure by traveling the 140 km from Darwin to Litchfield National Park. Litchfield is a spectacular National Park offering year round swimming amongst attractive and easily accessible surrounds. Characterised by a spring fed plateau, waterfalls flow all year round unlike Kakadu and other spots in the Top End. Spend the day exploring Litchfield’s attractions including great swimming options at Buley Rockhole, Florence Falls & Wangi Falls before spending a night at nearby Batchelor.

Day 3: Litchfield to Kakadu National Park
An early start to begin exploring the pristine region towards Kakadu National Park. Travel along the Arnhem Hwy stopping to explore Fogg Dam Reserve (one of the most densely biodiverse regions in the world) and be captivated by the birdlife before visiting the Window on the Wetlands information centre. Take up the option to do a nearby Jumping Croc Cruise (extra cost) or alternatively explore some of the highlights around the Mary River National Park before entering Kakadu.
On arrival into Kakadu check into your accommodation spend the afternoon exploring the attractions in the northern section of Kakadu incl the award winning Bowali Visitor Centre. Head out to Ubirr Rock & explore the famous rock art and bushwalks in this region (best short walks in the park). After your walk(s) climb Ubirr & watch the incredible sunsets over the Wetlands. This is a must do experience! Return to Jabiru where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Explore Kakadu National Park
A full day exploring the central region of this exceptional National Park. Explore the rock art around Nourlangie and nearby Gubara including a nearby rock shelter where there is evidence of occupation stretching back at least twenty thousand years. In the afternoon travel south to Cooinda where you will be staying and explore the surrounding wetlands and attractions such as Warradjan Cultural Centre and Maguk a small yet spectacular waterfall and clear plunge pool. (4WD required for Maguk).

Day 5: Kakadu to Katherine
A fully flexible day with the opportunity to explore the attractions in the southern region of Kakadu at your own pace. Spend the morning at Cooinda or relaxing at Gunlom Plunge Pool (Waterfall Creek Falls). A serene waterfall and plunge pool and explore the surrounding landscape at Gimbat and some of the great walks around Yirmikmuk. In the afternoon leave the Park and head for Katherine taking the time to stop off at historic Pine Creek and/or for a swim at picturesque Edith Falls before arriving in Katherine.

Day 6: Around Katherine (Katherine Gorge)
Spend the day exploring Katherine’s attractions incl the spectacle of the river, shear cliffs and rock art that make Katherine Gorge such a popular attraction. There are three ways to explore Katherine Gorge, bushwalking, helicopter flight or boat cruise. The best way to see Katherine Gorge is a combination of two.

Day 7: Katherine to Kununurra
A long 500km drive from Katherine to Kununurra with a relaxing stopover half way at Timber Creek. A truly spectacular drive amongst some picturesque scenery. Along the way you will cross over the beautiful Victoria River and escarpments. Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive at Kununurra and which attractions you want to visit along the way.

Day 8: Around Kununurra (optional Mitchell Falls or Argyle Diamond Tour)
A full day to relax and/or explore the stunning attractions around Kununurra. Depending on your interests choose between a number of world class attractions including Lake Argyle & the Ord River or the spectacular scenery and bushwalks of Keep River National Park. Alternatively choose a guided tour into the Mitchell Falls or the Argyle Diamond Mine. (all are extra cost options – for costs refer to summary below).

Day 9: Kununurra to Bungle Bungles
Depending on your interests and how you spent yesterday, spend some time exploring attractions around Kununurra including Mirima National Park before heading down the highway to the Bungle Bungle National Park. The drive into the Park is an attraction in itself. Several open creek and river crossings and inspiring scenery make this a great 4WD drive. Depending on what time you arrive into the Bungles begin exploring some of the stunning walks.

Day 10: Around Bungle Bungles
A full day to relax and explore the simply awesome Bungle Bungles. A short drive to the start of the walk to Cathedral Gorge gets you up close to the widely photographed beehive domes . Cathedral Gorge is incredibly stunning with its towering beehive cliff faces and cold pool of water fringed by a sandy beach. Later in the day you have the option to drive the full length of the Bungles to Echidna Chasm, Frog Hole Gorge & Mini Palms Gorge where you will experience a very different aspect on the Bungles.

Day 11: Bungle Bungles - El Questro Station
Today has you departing the Bungle Bungles and heading towards El Questro at whatever time of the day suits. Today you will reach the start of the Gibb River Road. Along the way visit Tier Gorge or Canteen Waterhole before arriving into Emma Gorge. The strenuous walk to Emma Falls is well worth the effort and you will marvel at its beauty of Emma Falls. Depending on what time you arrive into El Questro take the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular scenery, bushwalk amongst the many spectacular gorges, fish for the mighty barramundi or take a cruise down Chamberlain Gorge. You’ll be supplied with all the information you need to make the decision on the day.

Day 12: Around El Questro
A full day to relax and explore the awesome attractions and things to do at El Questro Station. There are all sorts of station activities including flights, heli-fishing, gorge cruises, horseback, camel-riding, and bushwalks. El Questro Gorge is the most spectacular walk in the park making its way through narrow and shear cliff faces, clear rock pools and tropical rainforest.

Day 13: El Questro to Home Valley
Depart El Questro and head down the Gibb River Road at whatever time of the day suits. Your first challenge will be crossing the mighty Pentecost river (be careful). Along the way marvel at the stunning scenery along the Gibb River Road. On arrival into Home Valley Station spend the rest of the day exploring the property on onw of the self guided walks or on horse back. Either option provides a wonderful experience overlooking the Cockburn Ranges, especially at sunset. Dinner and music tonight at the Dusty Bar & Grill with its licenced bar is a great way to finish the day.

Day 14: Home Valley to Mount Elizabeth
Today is a relaxing day as you depart Home Valley and continue your Gibb River Road adventure. An early start allows you to arrive into Mount Elizabeth Station mid afternoon where you can relax, unwind and experience true outback hospitality and a real life cattle station.

Day 15: Mount Elizabeth to Bell Gorge
Depart Mount Elizabeth and head towards Bell Gorge along the Gibb River RoadYour departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive and which of the stunning attractions you want to explore along the way, although we suggest an early start. Choose to visit, relax and swim at Galvans Gorge, Manning Gorge or Adcock Gorge. You’ll be supplied with all the information you need to make the decision on the day. You will cap off an adventurous day with a hot shower and three course chef prepared dinner at Bell Gorge Wilderness Camp with its licenced bar and outdoor dining area.

Day 16: Around Bell Gorge
A relaxing day exploring, swimming and bush walking around upper and lower Bell Gorge (arguably the West Kimberley’s most spectacular gorge). If you want to make your day more adventurous include a visit to Lennard Gorge today. A memorable day immersed in one the Kimberley’s most iconic locations

Day 17: Bell Gorge to Derby
Continue your Kimberley adventure along the Gibb River Road. An adventurous day exploring the famous gorges and landforms of the West Kimberley. Explore at your own pace and marvel at the natural landforms such as Lennard River Gorge, Windjana Gorge (an ancient underwater reef that is now above ground) and Tunnel Creek (bring your bathers and flashlight) before spending the night at Derby.

Day 18: Derby to Cape Leveque
Spend the day driving from Derby to Cape Leveque at whatever time suites. Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive at Cape Leveque with its rugged pindan cliffs and sparkling tropical waters. While the road between Derby and the Dampier Peninsula turnoff (190km) has few recognised attractions, the Cape Leveque Rd north offers rich aboriginal culture and history amongst its coastal communities as well as pristine beaches.

Day 19: Around Cape Leveque
A relaxing day on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula. Cape Leveque is a great way to unwind at the end of your 21 day northern Australia adventure. The picturesque coastline around Cape Leveque is truly spectacular and remains pristine. A great day exploring the Cape, strolling on the beach and watching the magnificent sunsets along this spectacular piece of the Kimberley. For the more adventurous, take a half day cultural tour of the cape or take on a guided or self guided fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling tour. Equipment is available for hire if you choose the self guided options.

Day 20: Cape Leveque to Broome
Today has you driving from Cape Leveque to Broome at whatever time of day suits you. Your departure time will depend on what time you want to arrive at Broome and which attractions you want to visit along the way. The Dampier Peninsula has some rich aboriginal culture and history amongst its coastal communities. You also have the opportunity to visit Willie Creek Pearl Farms. The only public access Perth farm in the Kimberley. After arriving into Broome your vehicle and check into your accommodation. Package assumes you will return the vehicle at the same time as pick up on day 1.
