Suggested Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Alice Springs
Arrive in Alice Springs, pick up your campervan from the depot and begin exploring some of the many attractions within Alice Springs. Alice's attractions can be explored as 6 separate discovery trails based on themes. Choose and explore one or more of these themes depending on your interests or just the highlights. The Communications theme for example includes the School of the Air (the worlds largest classroom) and the Old Telegraph station (arguably Alice's Premier Tourist Attraction).

Day 2: Alice Springs to West MacDonnell Ranges
Today has you departing Alice Springs and heading west to explore the spectacular gorges and gaps of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Choose from some of the 9 attractions depending on your fitness level and interests. All of the attractions are unique and stunning in their own right. There is too much to see & do in a day but don't worry you will have all day tomorrow to continue exploring this amazing part of the outback. This morning you have the option to include a sunrise balloon flight over Alice Springs (extra cost)

Day 3: Around West MacDonnell Ranges
Spend today exploring more of the West MacDonnell Ranges. Doing the stunning walks around Ormiston Gorge and Pound and/or swimming in the deep permanent waterhole is a great way to spend the morning. Redbank Gorge at the base of Mount Sonder is a great way to spend the afternoon walking along the tree lined sandy creek bed and entering the water to explore this narrow & spectacular gorge.

Day 4: West MacDonnell Ranges to Palm Valley
Today has you departing the West MacDonnell Ranges and looping around the Larapinta Drive to the amazing oasis that is Palm Valley. Along the way stop off and explore the Gosse Bluff Meteorite Crater. On arrival into Palm Valley you will be captivated by this surprising oasis in the desert, home to a diverse range of plant species including some 10,000 or so Palms that exist nowhere else in the world. Fossils, rocks, escarpments and small watercourses provide spectacular scenery.

Day 5: Palm Valley to Wattarka (Kings Canyon)
A full day exploring around Palm Valley, visiting the historic mission in Hermannsburg before driving along the 4WD only Mereenie Loop Road to Kings Canyon. Hermannsburg was Aboriginal artist Albert Namatjirals’ home and the Lutheran mission that was established there is well preserved. Arrive into Kings Canyon early enough to do the Kings Creek walk at the base of the canyon before enjoying a spectacular sunset overlooking the George Gill Range.

Day 6: Wattarka (Kings Canyon) to Uluru
An early morning start gives you the opportunity to do the complete Kings Canyon rim walk (subject to health and fitness). This walk is arguably the best walk in the Red Centre and highly recommended. After the walk spend the rest of the day driving from Wattarka to Uluru. Along the way stop over at Kings Creek Station a working cattle/camel station for lunch. You might even try one of their famous Kings Creek camel burgers. Arrive at Uluru and drive out to the Sunset viewing area for one the great experiences anywhere in the world. Sunset at Uluru is a must do.

Day 7: Around Uluru
A magnificent day exploring the Kata-Tjuta National Park. Spend the time driving or walking around the base of the rock exploring the many aspects of this amazing monolith. A trip to Uluru is also about experiencing and understanding its cultural & spiritual significance. Self Discover or take one of the guided tours that inform about the local flora and fauna, bush foods and the Aboriginal Dreamtime stories.

Day 8: Around Uluru (Kata Tjuta - The Olgas)
An early morning start for sunrise at Uluru before driving out to Kata Tjuta stopping off at the sunrise viewing area to experience the spectacular colour changes of The Olgas. Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) is a collection of weathered red domes, and many people believe Kata Tjuta is even more spectacular than the Rock. The Valley of the Winds Walk and Walpa Gorge allows you to complete your Kata Tjuta experience. A relaxing afternoon back at Uluru completes your day.

Day 9: Uluru to Rainbow Valley
A free morning to relax or explore Uluru at sunrise on a peaceful 1 hr camel ride over big red sand dunes (extra cost). Depart Uluru and begin the drive back towards Alice Springs. stopping and camping at Rainbow Valley. The valley's main feature is a sandstone bluff and cliffs which, during the day leave you wondering what the fuss is about but as the sun sets it transforms the scenery as rich bands of colour are emitted off the sandstone.

Day 10: Rainbow Valley to Alice Springs
Depart Rainbow Valley and complete your return journey into Alice Springs. Depending on your interests and your departure time spend the day exploring more of Alices highlights. Please note the package price is based on vehicle being returned before 4pm.
